I know Chicago is big and Dottie organized it and she has a huge following, but even if you manage to make one "stop and smell the flowers" friend, it would be worth it, in my opinion. What about trying to connect with others through your local bike store?J.Tuttlehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10923883452644723563noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2260812970536524709.post-83140821825487494992011-02-09T18:20:23.670-06:002011-02-09T18:20:23.670-06:00Thanks for asking J. The biking community in my town consists mostly of rodies (which is quite popular here) and Mountain Biking. We have a MTB organization called New England Mountain Association (NEMBA), which puts together group rides for trail riding. I've attended a few, but it's not my cup of tea, because I like to stop and smell the flowers and take photos along the way. And these rides are mostly about building skills and there is no real social interaction. It's a great organization, but I prefer to MTB alone or with close friends. When it comes to road biking with friends it's mainly about riding for excercise and not attending/planning social activities. So, it looks like I will have to try to change the attitude about cycling here in Southern NH and encourage/plan social rides & get togethers rather than purely for excercise and going home shortly thereafter.Suehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12235831374184428641noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2260812970536524709.post-54464904055889469322011-02-09T07:09:28.321-06:002011-02-09T07:09:28.321-06:00SM - It's been fun.
